The Memorial Garden In 1991 the Vestry designated the portion of property located adjacent and on the North side of the Church of St. Luke and St. Peter to be set aside for development and perpetual use as a Memorial Garden. The Garden was consecrated by Bishop John W. Howe, May 14, 1992. The development and maintenance of the Memorial Garden is under the supervision of the Memorial Garden Committee and the Church Vestry. The Garden provides the following:
The Committee maintains complete and accurate records on plot ownership and occupancy, as well as recording all garden memorials. The Committee also sees that the lawn and plant beds are maintained with due care and proper pride at all times. A professional landscape service mows and provides the major trimming, but volunteers are always welcome to provide additional weeding and tender loving care. Reserved sites may be purchased and paid for in advance by contacting a member of the Memorial Garden Committee and are on a first come choice basis in the designated sections. The Garden Committee is happy to receive monetary gifts in memory or in thanksgiving to help with the maintenance of the garden. Donations other than money must be approved by the Committee and no artificial flowers are allowed. Checks should be made payable to The Church of St. Luke and St. Peter and marked “Memorial Garden”. Memorial Garden brochures with additional details and envelopes are available in the track rack located in the narthex. If you would like to be a part of this rewarding ministry or want additional information, please contact a committee member or the church office.
